Ollie Watkins Transfer: Aston Villa Boss Unai Emery reveals that it is “happy” to stay after the Arsenal offer | Football news
Unai Emery confirmed that Ollie Watkins was “happy” that he remained in Aston Vili after the club rejected an offer from Arsenal for the attacker.
Sky Sports News reported on Wednesday that Arsenal had an offer for Watkins, and with his colleague striker Jhon Duran ready to move to Saudi Arab club Al Nasr, Villa will not allow English international to leave before the deadline on Monday night.
Watkins started and scored on Wednesday night in a recent 4-2 victory against Celtics in the Champions League, where the striker used the badge after celebrating his 11th goal of the season in all competitions ahead of the end of Holte.
“Yes, he’s happy to stay. We asked him how he feels and he is happy here,” Emery said when asked about Watkins’ future ahead of the match against Wolves, live onwards Football on Saturday night.
“The obligation of Watkins is a really great dedication to defense Aston Villa.
“He appreciates that Aston Villa always supported him and helped him. Also, when we joined two years ago, as we always tried to make the best of us.”
Emery: The interest in our players is good news
As he did after winning Celtic, Emery insisted that other clubs interested in his players are a good thing, not negatively so close to the end of the window.
“When some teams call us interested in players, it’s good for us and players.
“Some players prefer to leave, and some players accept them to stay here and surrender to Aston villa and compete for our challenges. One of them is Ollie Watkins.
“We need us now, as if he needed Aston Villa in recent years. The conversation we have usually says is about how he always adapts to all the circumstances.”
Jhon duran rose closer to the exit of the villa
The latest from Sky Sports News’ Council Main Journalist Kageh Solhekol:
Vile striker Jhon Duran finished medicine Al Nasr and was supposed to fly to Saudi Arabia.
Al Nashr is considered to pay just over £ 64m (€ 77 million) plus bonuses for a 21-year-old. This job is considered to be an example of a new strategy for the development of the Saudi Pro League.
The Saudis are now focused on singing young people, developing players. They do not want to consider them a pension home for older superstars.
The villa will not separate with Duran and Watkins
Latest from Sky Sports News’ Dharmesh Sheth and Lyall Thomas:
The villa is not ready to sell the Watkins Arsenal with Duran on the verge of signing for al Nasr.
Arsenal talked to a villa about the potential sale of Watkins earlier this week – but Villa does not want to sell both attackers in the same window.
Duran finished medicine in London and then should fly to Saudi Arabia on weekends, leaving Watkins the only recognized forward at the club.
Villa were angry hours before the Champions League conflict at home on Wednesday, while reports on Arsenal’s talks for Watkins appeared.
Villa Unai Emery’s chief asked about it after a 4-2 victory in Villa Park and said, “I don’t want to (he leaves).
“The good news is to have an offer of other clubs or interest, that is good. But we want to keep our sports goal through the players we have in the squad.
“Every player can be on the market in case this is good for the club, player and team – but to achieve this job, of course, we will be very demanding and Watkins is our striker.”
Watkins’ talks are believed to have started while there was still uncertainty about Duran.
It is not clear who started the contact, but one source said Sky Sports News that Arsenal is a proposed chance to sign Watkins.
Arsenal appreciates it in the amount of £ 40m – but the source claimed that £ 60 million was an estimate of the villa – and the feeling that every potential job would require a villa to reduce their assessment.
Arsenal’s long -term interest in Watkins remains, but Duran’s immediate departure means that it is now expected to stay in this window.
