Gautam Gambhir drops a bombshell on Virat Kohli, future test of Rohit Sharma after BGT defeat
Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir has broken his silence on the future of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli with the Test team following the defeat in the fifth Test match at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). Gautam Gambhir refused to comment on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s future, saying it was up to them.
Virat and Rohit were going through a bad situation with the bat. The duo failed to live up to expectations at the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). Rohit missed the first Test and joined the second Test but was dropped for the final of the series. Apart from the second innings in Perth, Virat has failed in all the innings.

When asked about the future of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir said that it is up to the players themselves to decide. He said both still have a hunger and passion for the game. Gambhir also pointed out that whatever decisions they take will be in the best interest of the Indian people.
“So what is the future of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma that you see?” asked the reporter.
“Look, I can’t talk about the future of any player, that also depends on them. But what I can say is that they still have the hunger, they still have the passion, they are tough people. And hopefully they can continue to take Indian cricket forward , but ultimately, as we all know, whatever they plan, they will plan in the best interest of the Indian people,” Gambhir replied.
