Officers called the JetBlue passenger after he opened the emergency door
Untamable A JetBlue passenger opened an over-wing exit on a flight trying to leave Boston on Monday, prompting the plane to open an emergency slide.
The incident that occurred at Boston Logan International Airport on Tuesday night has been confirmed from JetBlue and Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport). Massport told FOX Business the suspect was a male passenger.
“[He] tried to open the door while the aircraft was taxiing and the emergency slide opened,” the official said, adding that there were no reports of injuries.
Massachusetts State Police (MSP) arrived on scene at approximately 7:25 PM and took the passenger into custody. An MSP officer told FOX Business the response was prompted by “reports of a disturbance.”

JetBlue later told FOX Business that the flight was delayed due to the incident.
“[The] the customer, for unknown reasons, opened an over-wing exit while the aircraft was taxiing at Logan, causing the emergency slides to open,” the airline said. “The individual remained on the aircraft and Massachusetts State Police were called to the scene. “
As of 8:30 p.m., JetBlue said it was “working to get our customers up and running as soon as possible.”

The incident at Logan Airport wasn’t the only unusual incident involving JetBlue this week. There were two dead bodies found on JetBlue flight 1801 from JFK Airport in New York to Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Monday.
Officials found the bodies, which were in the plane’s landing gear, during a routine maintenance inspection, a JetBlue spokesperson told FOX Business.

“This is a heartbreaking situation and we are committed to working closely with the authorities to support their efforts to understand how this happened,” the spokesman said in a statement.
