The liberal hosts behind “Pod Save America” ​​blasted President Biden’s Jan. 6 Washington Post as “flawless” and blasted Democrats for “virtue” after Vice President Kamala Harris endorsed Donald Trump’s election Monday.

“There’s like this whole language that Democrats just need to trash about ‘institutions,’ ‘democracy,’ ‘this is sacred,'” said Jon Favreau, who was one of former President Barack Obama’s speechwriters.

Biden warned on Monday that America risks a repeat of the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot if the history of that day is forgotten and urged the country to “remember” the incident every year.

“But we should not forget. We must remember the wisdom of the saying that any nation that forgets its past is doomed to repeat it. We cannot accept a repeat of what happened four years ago,” – wrote Biden.

Podcast co-host and former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett argued that Biden misunderstood a quote about history repeating itself, coined by philosopher George Santayana, and went so far as to compare Biden to a “stubborn old man.”

“If you’re too mired in the past, if you become, this is from the original philosopher, stubborn like an old man, you also become doomed to repeat yourself,” Lovett said.

“It’s pretty on the nose,” co-host and former Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor said.

The hosts characterized the comment as out of step with the American electorate, admitting that most voters “don’t care” about the events of January 6.

“Biden’s comment said nothing,” Favreau said. “The description of January 6 perfectly sums up how helpless everything seems at this moment.”

The Democratic Party is facing growing calls to change the way it communicates with voters, with critics saying it relies on overly “woke” and academic rhetoric that alienates ordinary people.

Clinton campaign staffer James Carville urged Democrats to tone down the “idiotic jargon of NPR” when talking to voters in an interview with MSNBC host Jen Psaki on Sunday.

“Let’s just be authentic and concrete,” Carville said.

The hosts continued to criticize Biden’s comment for not offering any concrete steps to combat what they see as Trump’s “coup attempt.”

“Our party is one sad option,” Vietor said.

“Democrats who have been virtuous, explaining over and over again why the rebellion is so terrible, have failed. This style of politics is not working,” Lovett said.

Vietor claimed the article made him “very frustrated with Joe Biden all over again because he’s running for re-election.” The trio was part of a liberal campaign to pressure the president to withdraw from running for re-election after sad debate performance against Trump in June.
