President Donald Trump on Monday agreed to stop the implementation of the planned us tariffs about imports from Canada At least 30 days, the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said.

But in Tweet on Monday, announcing a break, Trudeau wrote: “I just had a good call with President Trump.”
Trudeau said that Canada has committed herself to new obligations “to appoint Fentanil Car”, among other measures.

Earlier on Monday, Trump paused tariffs on imports in Mexico after the president of that country, Claudia Sheinbaum, said he would immediately send 10,000 soldiers to its northern border to enter the United States.
The vast majority of fentali seized on American borders come from Mexico.
In 2024, the US authorities seized more than 21,100 pounds of fentanil on the border with Mexico, compared to only about 43 pounds seized on the Canadian border.
