Newcastle United are in the middle of an excellent form that has led them not only to fifth place in Premier League table, but also to secure an impressive 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final.

Gordon in particular has been wonderful since the start of the 2024/25 season, taking his game to new heights.

These are impressive statistics, no doubt about it. Unsurprisingly, his impressive performances saw the Englishman rewarded with a major new contract this term, the one that made him the second highest paid player on the team
To highlight the winger’s rise, only Brazilian star Bruno Guimaraes (£160k-a-week) earns more than Gordon’s £150k-a-week.
Neither of those players will leave in a hurry, but the form of Isak, that Gordon and Murphy man, leaves little room for Miggy Almiron who needs to get a boot.
Why Miguel Almiron should be sold by Newcastle
The Paraguayan may take home a lot less than Gordon, but he earns £25k-a-week more than Murphy, yet has failed to offer anything close to an adequate contribution to the team this term.
Really, in 12 performances in all competitions, the 30-year-old has failed to score or even grab an assist, starting just four times.

In the Premier League, Almiron has created zero big chanceshe has succeeded on 0% of his dribble attempts and is averaging a low 0.1 key pass per game. This statistic certainly proves that perhaps his spell with the Magpies is coming to an end and he won’t be missed that much on this basis.
As reported by Telegraph Sport, the wing is close to leaving Newcastle, with clubs in America, Brazil and Europe keen to sign him this month.
Howe requires a a fee of around £12 millionwhich would give him a boost as he looks for a few signatures.

It’s fair let’s say it’s £21 million the money they spent signing him from Atlanta United was money well spent. With only 18 months left on his contract, this is the last chance for PIF to secure a decent fee for the player.
Earnings of £60k a week but a failure to produce the goods this season suggests a sale could be the best outcome for all parties.
