Newcastle can sign Isak 2.0 with bid for ‘one of the best CFs in the world’
Alexander Isak was Newcastle Unitedan attacking mainstay since early December, scoring nine goals and cashing in on the revival he has brought Eddie Howe back to Champions League competition and arranged a Carabao Cup semi-final with Arsenal.
The Swedish star interjected seven consecutive first league gamesleading Sky Sports’ Jamie Carragher to hail him as “the top scorer in the Premier League”. Carragher went on to suggest that the gap is huge at the moment.
Carragher’s words ring true. Isak is not only the current top scorer in England, but also a threat from a player with impressive technical capacity.
There is no hiding from the Magpies’ frustrating start to the season, seemingly hungover from a disappointing summer and unable to muster the kind of fluency and cohesion that has become a staple of Howe’s side in recent years.
They left all that behind. Newcastle are firing on all cylinders and could only maintain their dizzying levels if Isak stays fit during the business end of the campaign.
However, there is still an urgent need for a striker at St. James’ Park.
Why Newcastle need a striker
Isak is an amazing player but is also injury prone, having missed his fair share of Toon games since signed for a club record £63m 2022, ending his career at Real Sociedad.

Also, transfer rumors are part and parcel for a striker playing at the top of his game, and if Newcastle fail to achieve their mutual goals this term, keeping him on Tyneside will be no small feat.
Arsenal are known to have accrued interest in the 25-year-old, although he will hardly be the only team in a long line of suitors.

Newcastle are looking for a striker
Newcastle are credited with an interest in the LOSC Lille striker Jonathan David for some time now, but we are reaching sink time as far as the future of canards is concerned.
David is out of contract at the end of the season, and Sky Sports have confirmed that four unnamed Premier League sides have approached the player’s representatives about a pre-contract agreement.
A little over a month ago, Football Insider confirmed that Newcastle sent scouts to watch the 25-year-old in action, but that the competition was strong. This is starting to look like the truth and the PIF must act quickly.
What Jonathan David would bring to Newcastle
There will be hope that Newcastle’s underpinnings over the past year can hold the upper hand at the negotiating table, especially now that they have reignited their attacking fervor and are pushing back at the table of Europe’s elite.
David must relish the opportunity to jet over the Channel, especially with that in mind he previously claimed his fierce desire to one day star in the Premier League. WITH 17 goals and five assists in 27 matches this season – – there is a good chance he will get his wish.
Like Isak, he is a complete striker, boasting a range of qualities beyond his ability to strike the ball – although his shooting boots are among the best Europe has to offer.
In fact, David was hailed as “one of the best strikers in the world”. media personality Tony Marinaroafter he cut 124 goals from 210 games for Lille, which equates to a goal-contribution rate per game of 0.59.
In Newcastle, Isak, by chance, is 0.66although with David improving his fertility every year, there is every reason that he could progress as a representative of Sweden at St. James’ Park.
With both players possessing an uncanny feel for goals and sharp technical skills, David has attributes similar to Newcastle’s back nine – as it were they recorded Football transfers – and that could see him dove right into Howe’s successful system.
According to FBrefIsak ranks among the top 5% of Premier League strikers in the 2024/25 season. for goals scored, top 8% for shot creation actions and top 20% for progressive passes per 90, underscoring Carragher’s claims that he is the best of the best. right now. Not only a scorer, but also a key team player.
David is in the meantime ranks among the top 2% of attackers in Ligue 1 for goals scored per 90 and a best 14% for pass completion, arguably more clinical in front of goal as he keeps it sharp, allowing his teammates to bounce off him and then thread balls back.

As you can see, he’s enjoying his most clinical campaign in France to date, and while David will play with the added incentive of a big trip abroad, he’s certainly shown he has the talent and skills to be Newcastle’s next version of Isak – that would only make Howe’s side even more better.
