Nancy Pelosi’s daughter tells Jill Biden to take care of ‘her husband’s legacy’
Alexandra Pelosi, the daughter of former Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, spoke up first lady Jill Biden and suggested “Lady McBiden” consider President Biden’s legacy.
“If I were Lady McBiden, I would put on my big girl pants, play the long game and think about my husband’s legacy,” the former speaker’s daughter told Politico’s Jonathan Martin in column published on Sundaynoting that she spoke only for herself. “There aren’t that many people in America who have something nice to say about Joe Biden, and Nancy Pelosi is one of them.”
Nancy Pelosi tried to talk to the president after his decision in late July to drop out of the race, but was “repeatedly met with the same response from the president’s top advisers: The answer is no,” according to a Politico column.
PELOSI ANSWERS IF ‘EVERYTHING IS OK’ BETWEEN HER AND BIDEN: ‘YOU HAVE TO ASK HIM’
Nancy Pelosi joined the co-hosts “Morning Joe” in July, after the president’s debate, saying, “It’s up to the president to decide whether he’s going to run,” despite Biden’s repeated assurances that he would stay in the race after several calls with Democrats and donors.
The media appearance was perceived as another opportunity for the president to drop out of the race, which ultimately happened.
After Vice President Kamala Harris lost the election, Pelosi nominated Biden should have dropped sooner. Biden has since expressed regret for dropping out and insisted he could have beaten Trump.
“She was told they’re not over it, don’t come in anymore because he’s blaming her,” a person familiar with the spat between Pelosi and Biden aides told Politico.
