Liverpool’s recruitment team are reportedly considering a potential transfer Nottingham Forest attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.
The 24-year-old has been in excellent form in the Premier League this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists to help Forest to second in the table.
Gibbs-White looks like he could certainly be up for it now take a step to a bigger clubeven if Forest are currently overachieving and may look like a surprise top-four contender.
Liverpool are eyeing an €85m star to replace struggling Klopp signings
Gibbs-White looks set to get that chance with Liverpool, with the Reds eyeing him as an ideal candidate as they search for an attacking midfielder of that profile, according to Football Insider.
Morgan Gibbs-White’s move to Liverpool may have to wait until the summer
The report suggests that Forest will certainly not sell Gibbs-White mid-season, although they could find a good offer too good to refuse in the summer.
Liverpool fans will no doubt continue to monitor how the England international fares in the Premier League in the coming months, as he is likely to be hard to ignore if he can maintain his current form.
Liverpool already have quality midfielders with similar abilities, perhaps most famously Curtis Jones, who was one of their best players in this period.
That said, Gibbs-White could also be good enough to come in and command the place, even if LFC would also do well to focus on prioritizing other areas of their squad.
With a deal in January perhaps unlikely, we’ll have to see how Arne Slott’s squad looks for the rest of the season.
If Liverpool end up underperforming in the second half of the campaign, then Slott could be more tempted to change his midfield.
