Mitsubishi Motors is considering not joining the Nissan-Honda merger, Yomiuri Reuters says

TOKYO (Reuters) – Mitsubishi Motors ( OTC: ), the junior partner of Nissan ( OTC: ) Motor, is considering not joining the planned business merger between Nissan and Honda (NYSE:) Motor, Yomiuri announced online on Friday.

The report comes after Nissan and Honda said last year they would begin formal talks about a merger that could potentially create the world’s third-largest car group.

Mitsubishi Motors, in which Nissan is the largest shareholder with a 24% stake, is expected to decide by this month whether it plans to participate.
