Millie Bright became the player with the most wins in the Women’s Super League (WSL) when Chelsea triumphed over West Ham United in a 5-0 victory at the weekend.

The staunch defender registered her 128th victory in WSL on Sunday as the Blues extended their unbeaten run to 2025. Since signing s Chelsea in 2015, Bright won seven league titles, four FA Cups and two FA Women’s League Cups.

The 31-year-old etched her name into the history books of the fateful summer of 2022, after a flawless singles tournament helped England lift the European Championship trophy.

After signing for the west London club in the 2014 finale, 21-year-old Millie Bright walked into Cobham with hopes and dreams of success. As for getting the silverware, it didn’t take long for her to cross that off her list of goals.

The Blues cruised to a 1-0 win over Notts County under the Wembley Stadium roof to secure themselves the next decade of total dominance.

Despite the heartbreaking 4-0 result in Gothenburg, the 2020/21 season marked a historic campaign for Chelsea as the team reached their first UEFA Women’s Champions League final.

Although the result did not go according to plan, Bright always saw that moment as a moment that would motivate her forever. Chelsea have yet to take home a European trophy, and that’s all Bright has left to win.

The player operated in the heart of the defense, fighting tooth and nail for 90 minutes of play.

The historic goal secured Chelsea an important win in the Champions League at the start of the 2022/23 season. After a brilliant delivery from Erin Cuthbert with a well-timed run, Bright volleyed the ball into the net.

The goal was enough to give Chelsea a 1-0 group victory over Paris Saint-Germain, who would go on to be semi-finalists in the competition that year.

Bright is known for her solid defensive presence, but it was her scoring boot that saw her names in lights on this occasion.

The defender was named Chelsea’s Player of the Year at the end of the 2015 season.For the young 21-year-old to receive the honour, it was no surprise when Bright developed into the next Chelsea legend to wear the armband.

Following Magdalena Eriksson’s departure from the club at the end of the 2022/23 season, Chelsea have announced that Bright will take over the armband from then on. It is safe to say that the transition was seamless.

When the odds were against them, Chelsea still managed to get the job done. Beating Man United 6-0 on the final day of the 2023/24 season, Millie Bright led the Blues to a fifth consecutive WSL title.

The captain continues to become one of the most decorated players of the modern era, and with the form they are in, the Blues could reach six league titles and counting in the 2024/25 season.
