The Trump administration has warned that any local leaders, including mayors, who try to squelch mass deportation efforts could face arrest as the president and his team work to slow the rise in illegal immigration.
Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller warned that any officials trying to protect migrants from deportation would face “criminal jeopardy” for breaking the law during “Jesse Watters Primetime.”

“The law is clear that harboring an illegal alien, smuggling an illegal alien, obstructing law enforcement, obstructing official process and conspiring to violate the rights of Americans, all of these and more are criminal statutes,” the homeland security adviser said. Jesse Watters on Wednesday.
“So, if there is [are] incidents that occur when a public official or elected individual participates in the violation of those criminal laws, then I fully expect the Department of Justice to follow the letter of the law.”
Miller emphasized that “no one is above the law, not illegal aliens, not anyone who may choose to illegally harbor those aliens.”

Meanwhile, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has, in the early days of the Trump administration, made more than 460 arrests of illegal immigrants, including those with criminal histories that include sexual assault, domestic violence, and drug and gun crimes.
The information was obtained by Fox News Digital shows that between midnight on Jan. 21 and 9 a.m. on Jan. 22, in a 33-hour period, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) arrested more than 460 illegal immigrants with criminal histories that include sexual assault, robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, drug and weapons offenses, resisting arrest and domestic violence.
Agents arrested nationals of a number of countries, including Afghanistan, Angola, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Senegal and Venezuela.

“The first immigration raids have already arrested and removed some of the most brutal criminals in this country, including child pornography cases, murder cases, child sexual assault,” Miller said. “This is just the beginning of efforts to rid this country of the criminal threat of migrants. In the coming days, you will see a massive increase in enforcement activity across the country to dismantle this criminal network.”
Miller said ICE will be supported by “law enforcement partners in the FBI, ATF, DEA and US Marshals.”
Border Emperor Tom Homan confirmed this to Fox News deportation efforts began on Tuesdayand officials prioritize “worst first” to restore public safety.
“As far as sanctuary cities in general, federal law enforcement is going to flood them to find and take down these criminal threats,” Miller said. “President Trump is taking back the laws of this nation. The sovereignty of this nation is being taken back by President Trump, and the cartels are being labeled as terrorists and they will be sent to their place.”
Homan issued a sharp warning Wednesday to officials in blue cities and states resisting the Trump administration’s mass deportations.
