Man Utd have added the RB Salzburg winger to their transfer shortlist
Manchester United have reportedly started initial talks about the future transfer for RB Salzburg striker Nene Dorgeles.
At the beginning of 2021, the small international moved to the Austrian giant from Guidars FC in his homeland. After three loan spells in two-and-a-half years, the right-footed left winger began to break into Salzburg’s first team.
After a season of adjustment, which still resulted in five top-flight goals, Nene has established himself as a first-team regular this season. Salzburg endured a miserable collective campaign – which led to quick break manager Pep Lijnders in December – but Nene has already surpassed his goal tally from last season.
The 22-year-old ended 2024 with a run of five straight goals in three league games and has now attracted interest from Manchester United, per Fabrizio Romano.
The Premier League the outfit have reportedly added Nene to their transfer shortlist – with a move in January or next summer both viable. There have already been talks between the two clubs and the first talks about the amount of the transfer were held.
UnitedFuture interest in Nene will be dictated by Salzburg’s asking price. The first club in Red Bull football empire it is now under the authority of former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who has taken over ‘Head of global football’ in January, and they have a history of selling their young recruits.
Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai and former Reds striker Sadio Mane – to name just three – all passed through Austria’s breeding ground before moving to the Premier League.
