Local Florida Police Nabs is one of the FBI’s 10 most sought after fugitives
A local police officer in Florida caught a man on FBI TP TEN OFFICES List during routine traffic stop over the weekend, earning praise from the Federal Agency.
SGT. Michelle Bilbrey was arrested by Donald Eugene Fields II, 60, around 9:15 pm at the intersection of US 27/441 and Rolling Acres Road in Lady Lake, the Lady Lake Police Directorate he said in a statement.
Fields, who faces federal accusations of sex trade and state charges for rape of children, was arrested after Bilbrey led his vehicle’s registration table and revealed that he was not registered in the car he was driving, police said.
Police chief Lady Lake Steve Hunt praised Bilbrey and departments for their alertness and dedication to everyday police.
“Sometimes a daily traffic stop turns into a real game exchanger. This is a reminder that every official, every day, makes a real difference,” Hunt said. “Every stop of traffic is an opportunity for justice. What begins as a routine encounter can quickly turn into a central moment, where the sharp instincts of the clerk and the dedication of the service lead to a significant arrest – guarding our community and in this case, safer.”
Ashley Johnson’s special agent also praised the local officer and her police department.
“Thanks to the proactive police department of the Lady Lake police, one of the ten most sought after fugitives is captured,” Johnson said.
The field was added to the FBI list of the top ten fugitives in May 2023.
Fugitive since March 2022. After not appearing on a court hearing in Franklin district, Missouri, where he faces state accusations that include legal rape, Legal sodomies, children’s abuse and touching witnesses, according to the police and the FBI.
Fields was also federally charged in St. Louis on December 7, 2023 due to an attempt to employ and exploit a minor for commercial sexual ranks between January 2013 and June 2017, the authorities said.
After his arrest, Fields will be scheduled to make his first appearance in Florida Federal Court.
Lady Lake is about 52 miles northwest of Orlando and east of the village.
