Lloyds Banking Group will close 136 branches throughout the UK because it seeks to adapt to digital banking customers, a high street lender announced on Wednesday.
The retail bank announced that it would close 61 Lloyds branches together with 61 Halifax and 14 Bank of Scotland locations between May 2025 and March 2026.
The staff working in the branches would be offered a role in another branch or another part of the job, the bank said.
“Over 20 million customers use our app approach to their money, and customers have more choices and flexibility than ever for their daily banking,” said Bank spokesman.
