Liverpool vs Man Utd predicted line-up

Liverpool can move a staggering 26 points clear of rivals Manchester United if they beat the disappointing Red Devils on Sunday.

Arne Slot, who is already secured a 3-0 win over Man Utd in the Premier League, he led his side to the top of the table during his first half-season at Anfield and suffered just one defeat during his impressive reign.

Sunday gives the Dutch coach another chance to achieve a convincing victory that will further endear him to the Anfield faithful, and Liverpool will surely end the weekend as league leaders regardless of the outcome of Man Utd’s visit to Merseyside.

Here’s how Slot could set up its own Liverpool side up for a crucial match.

GK: Alisson – The goalkeeper of Liverpool still is one of the best – if not the the best – in the world and kept five consecutive goals at home with Man Utd. With the Red Devils having lost their last three matches, he would have liked a sixth on Sunday.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – It was significant discussion over his future at Liverpool, but his performance at West Ham last time out shows why he is so integral to the Reds. It was an extraordinary displayboth in the last third and in its own half.

CB: Jarell Quansah – Ibrahima Konata is back in full training, but Sunday’s clash could come too soon for him. With Joe Gomez facing several weeks out with a hamstring problem, youngster Quansah could be called up to Anfield.

CB: Virgil van Dijk – The Liverpool captain has been a force to be reckoned with this term and will not be too concerned about the prospect of coming up against Rasmus Hojlund or his compatriot Joshua Zirkzee.

LB: Andy Robertson – There has been justified criticism of the Scot this season, but he still has the support of Sloto. It would be brave if the Dutchman replaced him with Kostas Tsimikas this weekend.

DM: Ryan Gravenberch – Liverpool’s Dutch cohort shone this term, with Gravenberch the beating heart of the midfield. The young midfielder continues to flourish in his new defensive role.

DM: Alexis MacAllister – Mac Allister has a goal and two assists in his last three games and has scored against Man Utd in the last term of the FA Cup. The Argentine will be crucial in controlling the midfield battle against an unconvincing opponent.

RW: Mohamed Salah – Despite providing a regarding news of his future at LiverpoolSalah’s performance on the pitch will not be affected against Man Utd. He has 15 goals and six assists in 16 appearances against the Red Devils.

AM: Dominik Szoboszlai – The Hungarian representative missed West Ham win through suspension, but returns on Sunday. He will battle with Curtis Jones for a starting place against Man Utd.

LW: Cody Gakpo – Gakpo found himself on the scoresheet again last weekend, scoring his 11th goal of the season against the Hammers. With two in the last two, he will be ready to grab another double against Man Utd – as he did in a 7-0 rout during 2022/23.

ST: Luis Diaz – The return of Diogo Jota was welcomed with open arms, but Diaz is in such incredible form that he simply cannot be let go. He has scored three in the last two and is ready to punish a dismal Red Devils defence.
