Leeds are leading the chase to sign the £10m “incredible” player who Farke knows well
Leeds United are leading the £10m pursuit of the “incredible” players signature Daniel Farkeaccording to a new report.
Leeds United transfer news
Despite sitting on top Priority table with three points, it could be a very busy January for the Whites as they worry about a repeat of last season. In preparation for the opening of the January transfer window, Football Insider claims Leeds are interested in signing Emiliano Buendia from Aston Villa.
The Argentine was on the radar of Leeds during the summer transfer window, but the move did not work out. That interest has remained the same, and with Farke and Buendia maintaining a good relationship from their Norwich City days, a move could be on the horizon this month as Buendia struggles for regular Premier League time.

Buendia isn’t the only player on their radar, though The 49ers are also interested in signing Japhet Tanganga from Millwall. The Whites are rumored to be monitoring the defender along with interest from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers. A January move may be difficult to achieve but Tanganga’s deal with Millwall means they have to consider Premier League offers, something Leeds hope to do at the end of the campaign.
Leeds are leading the chase to sign the £10m “incredible” player
Tanganga is one of the options being considered, but he is not the only defender on Leeds’ radar, as according to TEAMtalk, The Whites now lead the race to sign Nic Elvedi from Borussia Monchengladbach, despite initial reports he may not be willing to join the other side.
The 28-year-old, who has been praised in the past for “incredible composure” of former sporting director Max Eberl, has been with the Bundesliga club since 2015, during which time he has been a key player in the heart of the defense.
This report states that Leeds’ interest in signing Elvedi is genuine, as Farke likes his ability to play at centre-back and right-back. The Swiss international is someone Farke knows very well, as the German managed the defender while in charge of Mönchengladbach.
Elvedi is likely to cost Leeds 10 million pounds to complete the transfer, and while there is competition from Wolves, Leeds are leading the chase, as the Premier League side have their eye on another target.

Leeds’ initial inquiries for Elvedi were positive, but the defender is “reluctant” to drop to the Championship; therefore, the deal could be on hold until the summer, when Leeds will be hoping to return to the Premier League. The Whites and Farke are said to be happy with the current options in the squad, as they believe they have enough players to cross the border, but are keeping an eye on the transfer market, seeing if any options become available.
