“I think the thing about President Trump is that he wants to do great things for the American people and the country. And he’s a guy that I feel like when he says something, he tries to do it.”
Aldean noted that he is “worried” about the state of the country right now, especially as a parent. However, the musician believes that Donald Trump wants to do “great things” in this new era.
“I think the thing about President Trump is that he wants to do great things for the American people and the country,” Aldean said. “And he’s a guy that I feel like when he says something, he tries to do it.
“He’s not just telling you. You know, I feel like a lot of times politicians will just tell you things — just to make it sound good. And I feel like he’s a guy who actually wants to do that.”
Aldean hasn’t always been vocal about his political stance, but he has publicly supported Trump for years. The country music star liked how Trump “doesn’t talk like a politician.”
“He wasn’t that guy. He was a guy who kind of spoke my language and just kind of … to put it in layman’s terms for me,” he explained on the morning show.

Eight years ago, Trump struggled to get stars to be a part of the inauguration and the various glitzy balls that follow. Simultaneous protest marches across the country featured more big-name entertainers than the inauguration, a stark contrast to the likes of Barack Obama, whose second inauguration featured performances by Beyoncé, James Taylor and Kelly Clarkson and a host of star-studded onlookers.
Trump’s first inauguration in 2017 featured performances by the Rockettes, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and 16-year-old “America’s Got Talent” singer Jackie Evancho.

Aldean is a stickler for speaking your mind. He previously faced backlash for his song “Try That in a Small Town,” which was well received by his fans, in 2023 after the music video went viral. The song was considered by some to be pro-violent and pro-gun due to its lyrics and music video featuring footage from riots along with footage of people burning an American flag.

“People are often afraid to say something because of fear or losing their job or their friends,” the “You Make it Easy” singer told Fox News Digital. “They might not get a job or whatever. People tend to jump on the side that’s just politically correct, and maybe it’s politically correct, but it’s not right. Like, it’s just not, you know what I’m saying?”
Aldean explained that “Try That In a Small Town,” like all of his records, was a way for him to express his feelings creatively.
“I can’t pick up my phone, go on Instagram and rant for almost 30 minutes about how I feel about all these things,” he said. “It’s like I’m doing it through music, and it is what it is, and obviously it struck a chord with a lot of people who felt the same way. And the song went over well.”
