With his last-minute pardon, Biden abandoned any semblance of principle

At 11:45 a.m., the media finally felt the sting of the scorpion. It was uttered by President Joe Biden, who broke every apparent principle pardon family members involved in the influence peddling corruption scandal.

According to an old story, a scorpion persuaded a cunning frog to carry him across the river, noting that he could not sting him because they would both drown. Halfway there, the scorpion struck and the frog asked why he would doom them both. The scorpion replied, “I’m sorry, but I couldn’t resist the urge. It’s in my nature.”

For those of us who have written about the corruption of the Biden family for decades, pardons were devastatingly predictable. The president simply could not resist the urge.

PRESIDENT BIDEN PARDONS HIS SISTER JUST MINUTES BEFORE LEAVING OFFICE

In a city where corruption is a household task, Bidens they have long been in a league of their own, from nepotism to influence peddling to illicit lobbying.

In the influence peddling scandal, millions were collected from foreign sources in a practically obvious way.

There were luxury hotel rooms, a diamond, a sports car and huge payments called “loans. In the summer of 2019, a Chinese businessman sent Hunter Biden $250,000 using Joe Biden’s home in Delaware as the recipient’s address.”

The feeling of absolute impunity came to the fore in the messages of shock. For example, did the WhatsApp message to the Chinese businessman openly threaten Joe Biden’s displeasure if the money was not provided without delay? Hunter warned in the message:

“I’m sitting here with my father and we’d like to understand why the commitment wasn’t fulfilled. Tell the director I’d like to get this resolved now before it gets out of control, and now means tonight. I, Z , if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you Zhang or the chairman I will make sure that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to be pissed off at you forever he will regret not following my instructions I am sitting here waiting for the call with father.”

That feeling impunity it was due to the mainstream media forming a protective shell around the family. The media refused to investigate the scandal despite Hunter Biden’s laptop and clear evidence of influence peddling.

In 2020, CBS News’ Lesley Stahl literally laughed at then-President Donald Trump when he brought up Hunter Biden’s laptop and what it revealed about the Bidens. (Yet Stahl has recently expressed confusion and concern about people abandoning old media for new media.)

Journalists assured citizens that the laptop was supposed to be “Russian disinformation.” Even after the media belatedly acknowledged that it was authentic, MSNBC and Washington Post analysts continued to claim it last year.

After Republicans detailed the millions in payments in the House of Representatives, the media switched to the claim that there was no real scandal unless it was shown that Joe Biden actually received the money directly. It was a ridiculous claim since the courts have long treated money going to family members the same as money going directly to the principal as criminal conduct.

The media continued to protect Biden, as evidence showed Biden repeatedly lied about not meeting with Hunter’s clients or knowing about his foreign dealings.

As the media story continued to collapse, it became tied to Biden’s promise that he would never pardon his son—proof that the president was willing to let the criminal justice system run its course.

Then it turned out that Biden lied about forgive promise. After he was kicked out of the election, Biden signed a pardon for all the crimes committed by his son over the decades.

The media muttered “harrumphs” and moved on. Many said it was understandable for a father of a son struggling with drugs.

Now, in the final minutes of his presidency, Biden has pardoned his other implicated family members, including James Biden, Sara Jones Biden, Valerie Biden Owens, John Owens and Francis Biden.

James Biden was previously indicted for lying under oath to Congress as part of his investigation into the corruption scandal.

The pardons were clearly timed to avoid media attention and questions. Although he described the act as “conscience”, it was an almost mocking act of corruption.

In a strange way, it came across as a heartfelt moment at Bidenworld. There were no allegations of supporting an addict son or dealing with an unsolved case. It was done at the last minute because it was raw and obvious. No pretenses or excuses. Just good old-fashioned Biden-style corruption.

It was a candid moment like when Biden told a friend that “nobody messes with Biden.” There was nothing revealing about this about Biden. He knew how to shrug his shoulders and say: “It’s in my nature.” Instead, the sting fell on the media who trusted Biden not to further humiliate them with such an unethical and shameful final act.

The funny thing is that Biden was able to cross the river. He boarded the last flight with his family (and himself) protected by the abuse of his presidential powers. However, if he looked out the window, he could see his media allies slipping under the water in a daze.
