Inter Miami’s coach gave his verdict on Neymar’s transfer

The Brazilian superstar made just seven appearances for Al Hilal since moving to Saudi Arabia in August 2023, with an ACL injury that sidelined him for about a year. He has had additional fitness issues since returning to the herd last October.
Neymar’s lack of involvement in the Middle East has fueled talk of a potential departure in January or the summer, with him admitting he would love to be reunited with former team-mates Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in Inter Miami.
The trio formed the famous and deadly triumvirate ‘MSN’ during their time together in the Barcelona between 2014 and 2017.
Speaking with CNNNeymar admitted: “Obviously, playing with Messi and Suarez again would be amazing. They are my friends. We still talk. It would be interesting to revive this trio.
“I’m happy in Al Hilal, I’m happy in Saudi Arabia, but who knows. Football is full of surprises.”
However, despite Neymar’s comments fueling speculation of a move to MLSInter Miami manager Mascherano, who also played with Neymar at Barcelona, claimed the American team would not be able to do a deal because of the league’s salary cap.
“We can’t talk about Ney because we don’t have anything,” the 40-year-old said. “Obviously Ney is a great player. Every coach in the world wants him, but at the moment, but you know the MLS rules around the salary. So for us at the moment, it’s impossible to try to think about him.”
The new MLS season begins on February 22 and Inter Miami, who won the Eastern Conference and Supporters’ Shield for the first time in 2024, will have the chance to strengthen their squad when the transfer window opens at the end of January and closes in April.
