Carse confident in the return of the England series
England have no room to maneuver if they are to give Brendon McCullum a winning start to life as head coach of all formats, but Carse remains bullish and believes there is more to come from the tourists.
Asked if he still felt England could win the remaining three matches and the series, Carse said after Saturday’s defeat: “Yes, of course, 100 per cent.
“It’s pretty obvious that the performance was a lot better than the other night, but we didn’t have a complete performance. It’s pretty exciting to see where we can go in the next few games.
“I felt like we got a decent score on the board and we kept taking wickets throughout the game. Credit goes to Tilak, he played a very mature and smart innings and was the difference in their side at the end.”
