Gardner’s impressive performance in the first ODI of the Women’s Ashes series against England in Sydney, where she took 3/19 and made an unbeaten 42, earned her the player of the match award and improved her ranking in the bowling and all-rounder categories.
Along with her bowling achievements, Gardner also achieved career-best points in the batsmen and all-rounders rankings. Australia’s star goalkeeper, Alyssa Healyhas made significant progress in the latest ICC women’s ODI batsmen rankings, climbing back into the top five. Healy’s resurgence comes on the back of her strong performances going forward Female ashes series against England. Joining Wolvaardt are at the top Chamari Athapatthu Sri Lanka and Smriti Mandhan of India, which occupy the second and third place respectively. Both players have also been nominated alongside Wolvaardt for ICC awards, further underscoring their influence on the international stage.

Sophie Ecclestone England continues to lead the women’s ODI bowling rankings with 779 points. Ecclestone’s performances in the Ashes series underscore her dominance as one of the best all-rounders in women’s cricket.
- Ashleigh Gardner (Australia) and Megan Schutt (Australia) swapped positions after Schutt’s stellar figures of 3/19 in the first ODI. Gardner now holds 722 points.
