ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year 2024 announced; 4 Indians have been named, including captain Rohit Sharma
The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Saturday, January 25, announced the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year 2024, which features four Indians. Rohit Sharma, who led India to glory in the T20 World Cup 2024 last year, has been named the captain of the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year.
Apart from Rohit Sharma, India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya, top pacer Jasprit Bumrah and young shot-stopper Arsheep Singh have made it to the ICC Men’s T20I Team of 2024. Phil Salt and Travis Head are the only players to have made the prestigious team from England and Australia respectively.
ICC unveils T20I Team of the Year 2024, Rohit Sharma named captain
The ICC has selected the hard-hitting West Indies batsman as the wicketkeeper in its 2024 T20I Team of the Year, with Babar Azam and Sikandar Raza the only players from their respective countries, Pakistan and Zimbabwe, to make the cut. Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan have completed the T20I Team of the Year 2024.
The ICC said in a statement: “The ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year recognizes the best of the best who have impressed the world with their match-winning performances and made 2024 a year to remember in the shortest format.”
