Fabian Hurzeler will continue to “trust the process” as he tries to end Brighton’s poor run of form against Arsenal on Saturday.
The Seagulls have fallen to 10th in the Premier League table after a seven-game winless run, with their last win coming at Bournemouth in November.
Hurzeler made a great start after succeeding Roberto Di Zerbi in the Brighton hot seat, but has found life more difficult recently. However, he is convinced that better times are ahead.
He said: “I don’t think you can compare situations in football because they are so different, things happen for different reasons, but at the end of the day you have experience and that gives you help and guidance on how to behave in those situations. , how to return to the results.
“We’re just trying to continue working because we think we’re on the right track, that we can beat anyone, we’ve shown it in the last games that despite bad results we have really good games, that’s what I always say – trust the process. We are on the right track.”

Tough test against in-form Arsenal
A home game against an Arsenal side unbeaten since November 6 is unlikely to be the game Hurzeler would have chosen to start the new year, and the Texas-born boss admits his side will have to be at their best to trouble the Gunners.
“[We need] to push to our limits in every phase of the game, to continue to play bravely, to continue to play intensely,” he added.
“That’s what we showed in the last few games and, of course, the results weren’t that good, but we showed good performances and showed that we can beat every team in this league.
“It is very important that we play with our identity. If we don’t play with intensity, we have no chance. If we don’t play bravely, we have no chance.
“These two things are the main ones, and the second part of the game is the setup. When you see how much danger they can create from setting up, then we have to take that into account as well.”
Welbeck continues to worry Hurzeler
Brighton will have Adam Webster available again, while young midfielder Jack Hinshelwood could also return to action.
Hurzeler, however, was less certain about Danny Welbeck’s return date.
“I can’t say a clear timetable for when he will be back – it could be next week, it could be quick, but it could be another two, three, four weeks – so we really have to take it one day at a time,” he said.
“He’s pain-free so that’s a really good thing and he’s back on the pitch, but then we’ve got to really take it one day at a time and hopefully he’ll be back soon.”
