HSBC He is preparing to reduce his companies M&A and Equity Capital Markets in Europe, the UK and the US, due to the wider overhaul of his investment banking operations.

“As part of our constant efforts to simplify the HSBC and increase the leadership in our power areas, we complete an overview of our business with investment banks,” a spokesman said on Tuesday. “We will keep more focused on M&A capital market opportunities and capital in Asia and in the Middle East and we will start to lower our activities of the M&A and Equity Capital Markets market in the UK, Europe and the United States, in accordance with local legal requirements.”

The announcement comes as well as the CEO of HSBC Georges Elhedery, who entered the leading role last July, embarking a lender on a wider overhaul of targeting the efforts to reduce costs.

Back in October the bank discovered plans for a New geographical lineup and intended to combine his business into four business units, divided between the “Eastern Market”-a member of the Asian-Pacific and Middle East-I Western Market, which consists of European business and America.
