Former French President Sarkozy is facing trial over an alleged 50 million euro Gaddafi deal

Former French President Nicholas Sarkozy will go on trial on Monday on charges that he received around 50 million euros in illegal campaign financing from the late Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi. Sarkozy, who has been convicted twice of various crimes since leaving office, has described the allegations as part of a conspiracy against him.
