Farke could end Bamford’s Leeds career with a £8.5m move for the ‘prolific’ star

During 2024/25 Priority campaign, Leeds United they have the strongest attack in the division, scoring 48 goals in 26 games – with the fact that no side has scored more to date.

Joel Piroe was the lead guy for Daniel Farkeside, scores a goal ten times in his first 26 gameswith the fact that the Dutchman is the only player in double figures so far.

Such a record in the final third is all the more impressive considering the club lost two of their biggest stars in the form of Georginio Rutter and Crysencia Summerville in the summer after they failed to secure promotion.

The German has been excellent since arriving at Elland Road in the summer of 2023, looking to add another second-tier promotion to his already impressive CV.

However, he could not rely on one player who has not been able to produce results in front of the Whites’ goals in the past few months.

The latest on Patrick Bamford’s Leeds future

Attacker Patrick Bamford he was the club’s main man inside the final third for a long time, but over the last few months his level of performance has dropped significantly – resulting in him losing his starting role.

The Englishman failed to find the net of victory against Middlesbrough in Aprilcurrently nine months pass without a goal.

Such a run becomes even crazier when you know the 31-year-old is currently the club’s top earner, pocketing a huge sum £70k a weekcompletely overpaying for a player who has struggled of late.

However, despite his lack of form, Bamford has attracted a lot of interest from various quarters, including the EFL Blackburn Rovers and Wrexham – with Farke desperate to cash in on the first-team ace given interest rates.

Undoubtedly, a lack of options at the top of the pitch could mean Bamford has to wait to move elsewhere, but it is crucial that the hierarchy move him before the end of the month.

Such a transfer from Elland Road could allow the boss to relaunch a move for a player who has been linked with a move to Yorkshire in recent weeks.

Farke could end Bamford’s Leeds career with an £8.5m talisman

Just before Christmas it was announced that Leeds have tracked the Hammarby forward Jusef Erabi on a potential move during the January window.

The interest comes after previously tracking the 21-year-old in the summer, and this month presents another opportunity for Farke’s side to secure a move for the youngster.

A previous report stated that Erabi’s current side want a a fee in the region of £8.5m for his services, but it’s unclear whether the Whites will pay that much in January for the talent.

However, if they decide to move for “prolific” The Swede, as scout Jacek Kulig dubbed him, would give the current squad extra ammunition to bolster their promotion ambitions.

Erabi has scored nine times this calendar year for Hammarby, vastly outstripping current Leeds ace Bamford, with the move allowing him to provide much-needed competition to Piroe in attacking areas.

He also achieved a much higher shot-on-target rate, highlighting his clinical sharpness in front of goal, which enabled Farke’s side to add to their already mighty record in 2024/25.

The youngster’s stats show the quality he possesses and a fee of £8.5m potentially seems like a huge price, but one that could prove to be a wise investment if he improves further as a result of any move.

Mega money deals, controversial moves and big name failures. This is the home of transfer news and opinion across the Football FanCast.

It may seem harsh that Bamford has been pushed ever closer to the exit door at Yorkshire in recent weeks, but it comes as no surprise given his lack of form with a move away from Elland Road desperately needed to rebuild his confidence in attacking areas.

The hole vacated by the 31-year-old could make Erabi the perfect option to fill the gap, allowing the club to make a big leap in their ambitions to return to the Premier League at the end of May.
