FA Cup: Liverpool v Accrington Stanley

Liverpool are still chasing the top four, although a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham on Wednesday night in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final makes life more difficult.

Arne Slott’s side have two away games after Accrington, at Nottingham Forest and Brentford, and the Dutchman is likely to have an eye on that when he names his squad.

Team news

Liverpool are likely to make major changes although the depth of their squad means it will still be a strong starting XI.

The likes of Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa and Wataru Endo are likely to start with Slott also thinking about those left out against Spurs.

Dominik Szoboszlai could return from illness although there is a doubt over Jarell Quansah after his early withdrawal in midweek.

Accrington will go full force and there are no injury reports from the camp.

Expected lineups

Liverpool: Kelleher, Bradley, Endo, Konate, Tsimikas, Elliott, Nyoni, Morton, Chiesa, Danns, Nunez

Accrington: Crellin, Rawson, Love, Awe, Walton, B Woods, Khumbeni, Conneely, Whalley, Hunter, J Woods

To no one’s surprise, we’re going for a home win, although it may take a while for Liverpool’s second run to solidify.

In true cup style, Accrington will fight hard and give a good account of themselves, but the quality of the home side will shine through in the end.
