There is an exciting update on the chances of Leeds United signing Aston Villa attacker Emiliano Buendia before the end of the transition period.
Leeds are yet to sign a contract in January
Daniel Farke and 49ers Enterprises have yet to bolster the Whites’ squad with a new signing in 2025.
Leeds are well placed to secure automatic promotion from the side Priority however, as things stand, a four-way race is emerging with Sheffield United, Burnley and Sunderland.

Buendia starred under Farke at Norwich in the Championship, winning two second division titles in 2019 and 2021. A return to the division with Farke at Leeds is being considered and a new update has emerged.

Graeme Bailey, speaking to Leeds United News, has now revealed this Farke sees Buendia as part of his Premier League plans at Leedsand those at Elland Road are considering including a buy-back clause in the loan deal if the Whites are promoted.
“Leeds are playing the long game with him. The longer it stays in the window, the more chance they have of getting it. They like it, it’s no secret. They see Buendio as that extra little spark that will get them across the border.
“Villa would like to make a commitment if Leeds are promoted. It’s something Leeds are considering. How much Farke wants Buendia, that will tell us everything. [Farke] sees Buendia as part of his Premier League plans.
“That will be the question now being asked of Farke by the Leeds hierarchy; »Do you really see Buendia [as a long-term signing]? We’re not going to pay huge wages, which is what he’s doing and a loan fee, just for a few months if you don’t see him as part of the Premier League plans’.
“Villa now insist on the commitment. Are they still coming in the last week of the window [remains to be seen].”
The journalist also made a promising claim by adding that Villa want Buendia, further £75,000 a weekto go to Leeds instead of Spain and that there is a “good chance” the move will be completed before February 3.
“Villa would like him to go to Leeds instead of Spain because of his wages, which I can cover. Villa are not chasing him, but they will push him to Leeds. Valencia does not have the financial means to rival Leeds.
“One to watch out for. I can see that happening. If that doesn’t happen, then it tells us that Leeds don’t see him as part of it [long-term] plans.
