Erling Haaland signs massive new contract with Man City until 2034

Erling Haaland will be scoring goals in the Premier League for another nine-and-a-half years after the Norwegian signed a new deal to keep him at Manchester City until the summer of 2034.

Haaland has scored 79 goals in 83 league starts for City since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 and has committed to the club until the age of 34.

He is behind Alan Shearer’s all-time record of 181 goals.

He said: “I’m really happy to have signed my new contract and look forward to spending even more time at this great club.

“Manchester City is a special club, full of fantastic people with amazing fans and it’s the type of environment that helps bring out the best in everyone.

“I also want to thank Pep Guardiola, his coaching staff, my teammates and everyone at the club because they have all helped me so much over the past few years. They made this such a special place and now I’m City no matter what.

“I want to keep developing, keep working to get better and try to do my best to try to help us achieve more success in the future.”

Haaland has won the Golden Boot in each of his two full seasons in England so far, and has 16 this term – two behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

City’s director of football Txiki Begiristain added: “The fact that he has signed for so long shows our commitment to him as a player and his love for this club.

“He has already made an incredible impact in his time here and his incredible numbers and records speak for themselves.”

City are sixth in the table and will face Ipswich on Sunday.
