Crystal Palace quick deal for “talented” ace; same agent as Guehi
In the desire to finish any work at the beginning of the January transition period, The Crystal Palace are now reportedly speeding up their move to sign the Championship star for Oliver Glasner.
Crystal Palace transfer news
They are still fighting for survival in Premier League – sitting just six points clear of the relegation zone – it could be a big month for Crystal Palace, who are already being linked with a number of names. Among those mentioned are Miguel Almiron and the Sunderland star Job Bellingham in deals that would see the two northern rivals become team-mates in south London.
Bellingham would be a particularly impressive swoop, given his potential and current performance at Sunderland in the Championship. Betting on Bellingham making it in the middle of the park certainly isn’t a bad idea, that’s for sure.
Almiron meanwhile he has reportedly been offered to the Eagles as Newcastle United look to cash in on their struggling winger. However, at 30 years of age and a reported value of £21m, it remains to be seen whether those at Selhurst Park will accept the Magpies’ offer. Instead, it seems he will turn his attention to the championship.

According to Peter Smith of Sky Sports, Crystal Palace are now fast-tracking a deal to sign Romain Esse from Millwall, who are reluctant to let their young talent leave this month.
The teenager’s release clause and Palace’s persistence may leave them with little choice after all. Any deal can also be made easier by the fact that Esse is under same agency as Marc Guehi.
Of course, it wasn’t that long ago that Palace signed a young attacking midfielder called Eberechi Eze from Championship side Queens Park Rangers. Now, years later, Esse can follow in his footsteps from Millwall.
“Talented” Esse can follow Eze’s path
Moving from the Championship to Crystal Palace and the Premier League, Esse would follow the same path as current star Eze. And the latter could immediately get a chance to get to know the 19-year-old in Glasner’s 3-4-2-1 system, which includes two advanced midfielders.
At the moment, Ismaila Sarr and Eze are the duo who have taken charge behind Jean-Philippe Mateta, but Esse’s potential arrival could quickly change that and give Glasner a positive headache when selecting within his first line.
In his still young career, the Millwall youngster has already found himself at the center of praise. Former manager Gary Rowett predicted his impending rise in 2023, telling reporters, according to South London: “I was happy with him. There was an opportunity to play him a bit further forward at some point.
“But at the moment his quality will not stop him from getting into the first team, it will be all the other things around that. He’s probably already as talented as anyone we have. It’s developing really nicely.”
