Confident Chiefs bettor puts $1.3 million on Kansas City to beat Bills in AFC Championship showdown
One daring bettor hopes history will repeat itself when Kansas City Chiefs host the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game this weekend.
The Chiefs are in hot pursuit of their first three-peat and one optimistic sports bettor believes – very confidently – that they can pull off a win over accounts on Sunday afternoon the same way they did in the 2021 AFC Championship game.
According to Caesars Sportsbook, the $1.3 million bet was placed on the Chiefs’ moneyline (-130). The total payout would be $2.3 million.

The Chiefs are currently favored to win -1.5, while the Bills money line is +114.
If history is anything to go by, the Chiefs are a safe bet.
Patrick Mahomes and company have been to seven consecutive AFC Championship games. They have won four of their last five and won three Super Bowls, including two in a row. They are now looking to become the first team in NFL history to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy in three consecutive seasons.

“Obviously you want to win three in a row,” Mahomes said, “but building those memories with the guys and the community every year is special. When I look back at all the different Super Bowls we’ve won, let’s look back at the special moments we’ve had and special games we had. We’ll try to do that again this year.”
The Bills-Chiefs rivalry has ended three of Buffalo’s last four playoff runs thanks to Kansas City. The first was in 2021 in the AFC Championship game, the following year in a heartbreaking overtime loss in the divisional round, and again last season in another narrow loss in the divisional round.

But 2025 could be a loser year if the Bills continue what they did in the regular season.
