CNN regular Joe Walsh slammed the network for Jim Acosta’s move

Former congressman and CNN regular Joe Walsh lashed out at the cable network on social media Thursday, after reports revealed host Jim Acosta had been removed from his morning slot.

“I’m on CNN a lot,” Walsh wrote on X Thursday. “And if saying what I’m about to say means that my days at CNN are over, then w… that. CNN, what you just did — removing Acosta from his morning show — is cowardly shit— -.”

Acosta, an outspoken anti-Trump anchor, was left out of CNN’s new weekday programming lineup when it was announced Thursday.

“Acosta is one of your most independent, fearless hosts. The white house it’s miserable. And an abdication of your duty to hold ALL public officials accountable. Shame on you CNN. Please correct this error now.”

Acosta’s 10 a.m. ET program has been replaced by “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown” in the network’s latest realignment.

“We are actively discussing a new time slot with Jim and will have more information soon,” a CNN spokesperson said Fox News Digital.

CNN has struggled to keep pace with the changing media landscape over the past year, announcing this year that the company will lay off 6% of its workforce.

“Our goal is simple: yes shift CNN’s gravity to the platforms and products to which audiences themselves are shifting and, in doing so, ensure CNN’s future as one of the world’s largest news organizations,” CNN CEO Mark Thompson said in an internal memo obtained by Fox News Digital.
