CIG USA has filed intellectual property claims against AOI’s patents in the Investing.com lawsuit
SANTA CLARA, Calif.–( BUSINESS WIRE )–Cambridge Industries USA, Inc. (CIG USA), a Delaware corporation headquartered in Santa Clara, California, today announced that it has filed petitions with the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the US Patent and Trademark Office for Inter Partes Review (IPR) US patents asserted by Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AOI, NASDAQ:) in AOI’s copyright infringement action, which is pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
The petitions seek the invalidation of all claims in the patents as unpatentable, which, as shown in CIG USA, is Inter Partes Review The pleadings are void for foreseeability or obviousness. Decisions on whether to pursue intellectual property rights are expected by mid-2025, well ahead of the scheduled June 2026 District Court trial date.
