Chelsea are in talks with the Bundesliga giants over the loan of Carney Chukwuemeka
Chelsea are now ready to let midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka leave loan this month, and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly looking to sign the 21-year-old.
Chukwuemeka has struggled for playing time all season under Blues boss Enzo Maresco, who admitted during the summer that he did not foresee a big role for the midfielder this year. He did not feature in any of the Premier League fixtures and was instead forced to settle for 130 minutes in five cup appearances.
Earlier this month it was announced that Chelsea they were only prepared to accept permanent offers for Chukwuemeka, whose contract includes a release clause of around £40m, but Fabrizio Romano notes that a loan move is now on the table.
Chelsea have warned suitors that any bid must be a straight loan, with no buyout clause, and Chukwuemeka’s wages must be covered in full.
Dortmund are in talks to lure Chukwuemeka to Germany, but Chelsea could still decide to send the 21-year-old to sister club Strasbourg, although they would have to terminate one of their three current loan signings with the French side – Andrey Santos, Djordje Petrovic and Caleb Wiley.
There have been a lot of talks between Chelsea and Dortmund already this month, s The Bundesliga giants are looking for a deal for Renato Veiga. The Portuguese international reportedly wants to leave Stamford Bridge and join a side that can offer him more minutes in the central defender position.
