Ronald Araujo’s new contract with Barcelona reportedly includes a release clause that makes him available this summer for just €65m (£54.9m).
Araujo was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal or Juventus at the start of the transfer window before ending speculation signing the contract to commit to the Camp Nou jersey until 2031.
Barcelona used to confirm release clauses inserted into new contracts, but refused to reveal details of clauses in Araujo’s or Gerard Martin’s new contracts.
According to RelevoAraujo’s new release clause is a surprisingly affordable €65m for the upcoming summer window.
In January 2026, that clause is set to rise to €80m (£67.6m) if he is still at the Camp Nou at that time.
Araujo’s previous release clause was a staggering €1 billion, but he is now available for the kind of money that won’t scare off most big clubs across Europe, many of whom have long been linked with moves for the 25-year-old.
Release clauses, which are mandatory in Spanish contracts, must be paid in advance and in full to be activated, but clubs can negotiate a higher fee with a more favorable payment plan.
