Arteta won his first trophy during his debut season in charge of the Gunners that year, coming from behind to beat Chelsea at an empty Wembley Stadium amid the pandemic.
Since then, Arteta has won just two Community Shields and the Arsenal manager is under pressure to deliver more major silverware, more than five years after he was appointed to replace Unai Emery.
“It’s a big part of our history, we’ve won it 14 times and it’s a competition that’s very close to us,” he said Arteta on the importance of the FA Cup for Arsenal.
“It’s a great game to play against a huge club and also a very special occasion with the number of fans they’re going to bring, so it’s a very big game.
“The memory of winning something, celebrating and sharing it with your people is the ultimate goal. I’ll never forget the process and the people you meet, but overall I have great memories of the competition.”
If Arteta is to bring in trophies this season, he will need all the stars available, especially given the bad luck they have had with injuries this season. That being said, there are those who could take their future into their own hands.
Thomas Partey and Jorginho contracts expire at the end of this season, and there is no sign of an extension for either player.
Jorginho is considering leaving Arsenal in January

It is stressed that there is no formal offer on the table yet and no transfer talks underway, but Jorginho’s representatives are assessing possible landing spots for the former Chelsea star, who is a favorite among his team-mates.
“I know him a lot, so it’s nice to play with him, he knows me well,” said the Arsenal striker Kai Havertz on Jorginho last season.
“He makes my life easier, he’s a world-class player.”
