Arsenal and Arteta ‘Inflame’ Fans’ of Corruption claim
Gary Neville accused Mikel Arteta of “inflaming” the bias Arsenal after an internet abuse aimed at Michael Oliver this week.
Oliver fired Gunners Myles Lewis-Skelly on Saturday in a 1-0 victory in Wolves, and the decision later abolished the football association.
After the game, Arthte said he “threw” with an inevitable crowd on social networks, which caused the police to put a car outside Oliver’s house after the threats were headed for his family.
Neville admitted that his club Manchester United was also guilty of openly criticizing officials during his playing days, but believes that social media have transferred the boundaries to what is acceptable.
Refs are not buying – Neville
Said Podcast Stick to Football: “They [Arsenal fans] Use language like corruption, which means they think he’s paid and redeemed – which is obviously not the case.
“Me [at Manchester United] Lived in a club that created a siege mentality of judges. Arsenal does this too – there is no doubt that what Arsenal does is to light the situation after the game, and not to calm it down, they have done it for 12 months – but we cannot say the locker room we have done.
“The difference is now with social media. When we played at the time and did similar things to the judges, we did not turn on what would be the case of corruption on social media.
“Now you have the wrath of Arsenal, who comes from players and Mikel Arteta, and distinguished fans. Now you have a wave of social media that goes towards [allegations of] Corruption and cheating. We couldn’t have so much influence in our day – everyone was home without a phone and they didn’t have Twitter. “
Oliver won’t refal Arsenal this weekend
Oliver overlooked Arsenal’s game with Manchester City over the weekend and was awarded to Ipswich V Southampton.
Neville added: “I hate the idea of the referee off the game.
“He is the best referee in the country and the idea that on Sunday he will get into that game and run into Manchester City … He won’t do it, he’s professional.”
Arteta wants to end hatred
Speaking on Tuesday ahead of Arsenal’s Champions League match in Girona, Arteta says that all forms of hatred in football should be imprinted.
He said, “Every time I talk about this topic [my view] It’s the same, whether it’s a player or a coach or referee. We have to really work more to try to eradicate that part of the game that brings nothing but bad things, bad taste and it makes it difficult for people’s lives.
“It should not be allowed. We don’t want it, we don’t need it, it can only damage our sport, so let’s get it out.
“We always put great emphasis on evolution, where football goes in the next five, 10 years, the rules and all such things. But one of the most important things we can do to develop is to create an environment that is much better on the social level, the one that is Healthier, it’s nicer, in which we reward things that not only win, and when people make mistakes, they have a chance to change.
“We should not be here with this hatred, these things we see, because they affect everything and eventually take away the joy of this sport, the reason for it – which is enjoying themselves, have good moments.
“[We have to] Spend more time by making the right decisions with the right people to get them out. Then, just as we set the laws and measures and regulation and such things … they do it, why didn’t we do it [with this]?? We are all talking about it, but no one seems to move strong enough and bring people with them to get it out of the game, because it is simply unacceptable. “
