Four years later Armie Hammer cannibalism scandal caused great controversy, the actor reflected on how the wild rumors could affect the future of his children.
“I’m also well aware that my daughter and son are going to get to a certain point where they’re going to do therapy and then they’re going to say, ‘I hate my dad, too.’ And I’m, like, f—ing trying here,” he said on Podcast “Your Mom’s House”.
Hammer’s comments come after his ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers posted a photo of the actor spending the holidays with their two children. Hammer is seen imitating Macaulay Culkin’s shocked face in “Home Alone” with his son and daughter.

The “Social Network” actor, who has been in therapy, admitted that he recently reflected on his actions after accusations of cannibalism.
“I’m also well aware that my daughter and son are going to get to a certain point where they’re going to do therapy and then they’re going to say, ‘I hate my dad, too.'”
“There are aspects of my behavior that I don’t think were coming from maybe the healthiest place. Then there were aspects of my behavior that were just expressions of my own sexuality,” he explained.

“I had to sort of comb through all of that and figure out what was coming from the right place, what was coming from a place of trauma.”

Hammer also admitted that part of him wanted the cannibalism rumors to come out.
“I think somewhere deep down, subconsciously, I wanted to be caught,” he continued.

“I didn’t relate so much to the public image of myself. Like, ‘Look at them, they’re like the Ralph Lauren family. They have the perfect life, the perfect house, and the perfect kids,'” Hammer added.
“I thought, ‘I feel like a fucking alien.’ I was ‘liking’ pictures of slavery on my Twitter, like I was whistling at it, and I wanted people to catch me, ‘I don’t think he knows his likes’ are public.’ I saw it and I said, ‘I know.'”
Hammer leaned over claims he was a cannibal and said the public’s reaction to his controversial direct messages had been taken out of context.
“If somebody took someone’s bedroom conversations, especially if people were having a bit of a sexy time, and they took the (obscenity) they said, even if it was completely trivial, and you read it somewhere else out of context, everybody’s going to go , ‘You guys are fucking disgusting.'”

During his lengthy podcast interview, Hammer admitted to his roping fantasies and said he practiced on a doll he bought at a department store.
“I like the idea that you’re all mine. Yes. I can do whatever I want and you love it because you know you’re mine,” he said.
“And, like, that obsession thing… it’s just fun to talk about. And, by the way, especially if you’re… drunk or high or high at night and you’re texting. And while you’re saying it, you’re… smiling to yourself , like, I’m gonna fucking cut off your toe and keep it in my pocket so I have a piece of you wherever I go, ha ha ha,” Hammer laughed.

The “Call Me By Your Name” star has been accused of sexual assault 2017 by the ex-girlfriend, who also claimed that Hammer raped her “violently” and “for more than four hours.”
His career was derailed after a series of text messages allegedly detailed sexual fantasies, including references to rape, violence and cannibalism. They were posted online by an anonymous Instagram account called “House of Effie.”

Another ex-girlfriend, Paige Lorenze, accused Hammer of branding her with a knife. His ex-wife Chambers filed for divorce in 2020, months before the allegations against Hammer of abuse, rape and cannibalistic fantasies became public. Their divorce was finalized in 2023.
