Amazon It releases some employees in their communications and units of sustainability, the executive authority oversees the departments announced internally on Wednesday.
In a note to employees observed by CNBC, Drew Herdener, Amazon’s public relations chief, he wrote that the company eliminates some jobs in these groups as part of a wider view of the “current ORG design” division.
“While we were examining our current ORG design and we decided on the shifts above, we identified some roles that were skilfully covered or that introduced unnecessary layers, where we could not solve the challenge by preventing the structure or switching work loads,” Herdender wrote. “In order to get rid of and do the right thing for a job, we eliminate a small number of roles in communication and sustainability. This is difficult to make a decision and what my leadership team and I do not take lightly.”
Amazon’s spokesman Brad Glasser confirmed the release and said in a statement that the reduction of work “would help us to move faster, increase ownership, strengthen our culture and bring teams closer to customers.” Bloomberg He had previously reported a job reduction.
Herdener continued that the company could restart some employees for roles at lower levels, “in others we will revise the number in other areas within the org.” Amazon will provide financial support, constant fees and job assistance to dismiss employee, Herden said.
Amazon reduced more than 27,000 jobs throughout the company 2022 and 2023 as part of executive director Andy Jassy Restrain the costs again. He had fewer circles of job reduction in 2024 and stretched this year. The company also continued to reduce some of its experimental or non -profit initiatives including a “Trying you before you buy” clothing service and Fast brick and mortar delivery program.
