“I was hoping he would feel much better this morning, but it’s not where I want it to be,” James said. “And with the remaining 30 games, trying to make the playoffs in wild, wild, western, I feel like it is very important for me to somehow care for myself and understand what is coming.
“So I won’t say it’s maintenance, but it’s maintenance,” he said. “At the same time, I have to keep an eye on myself when it comes to this injury that I’ve been dealing with for years.”
James said he would continue to rehabilitate the injury on Monday and hoped he would play on Wednesday as the Lakers return from a break to compete against Charlotte Hornets.
