A New York judge sentenced Trump days before his inauguration


President-elect Trump’s attempt to overturn his conviction in a New York money laundering case was rejected on Friday.

New York Judge Juan Merchan denied Trump’s request to overturn the verdict in the case based on the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity.

Merchan noted that he is still reviewing other motions Trump has filed to dismiss the case.

The sentencing will take place on January 10 at 9:30 a.m., and the president-elect has the option of appearing in person or virtually.
