Tottenham vs Wolves: Preview, Predictions and Lineups
Tottenham complete an unforgettable 2024 at home this weekend as Wolves head to N17.
Ange Postecoglou was once heralded as the man capable of reviving the heights of the Mauricio Pochettino era in north London, but many are beginning to question whether the Australian is capable of spearheading a sustainable Premier League project.
The Spurs squad has been decimated for much of his tenure, but fans are struggling to put up with their team’s current position despite the injuries. Tottenham are 11th in the Premier League table after losing to high-flying Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day.
While Wolves are 17th and eight points worse, the mood in Vitor Pereira’s camp is certainly brighter. The new manager at Molineux has enjoyed the best possible opening to his tenure at Wolves, with the West Midlanders making it two wins from two since the Portuguese manager replaced Gary O’Neil.
Maybe a fresh voice is all this team needed.
Here 90 minutes a guide to Tottenham’s upcoming Premier League conflict.

Grandpa Spence was sent off late on at his old ground, meaning he is suspended for the away game at Wolves. Pedro Porro will return to the XI on Sunday after dropping to the bench on Boxing Day.
The Spurs have more problems with the central defender with Radu Dragusin taking a knock that puts him in doubt for the weekend game. Ben Davies suffered a setback in training, however, leaving the senior centre-back to partner 18-year-old Archie Gray. While Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven remain absent, defensive midfielder Yves Bissouma could be forced into the back line as an emergency replacement.
Richarlison could be back in action soon but is not yet ready to feature, while Mikey Moore has recovered from illness and could be involved on Sunday.
Guglielmo Vicario and Wilson Odobert are ready to return in February.
Predicted line-up of Tottenham against Wolves (4-3-3): Forster; Porro, Gray, Bissouma, Udogie; Bentancur, Sarr, Maddison; Kulusevski, Solanke, Son.
Mario Lemina missed Wolves’ Boxing Day win against Manchester United with a muscle injury and could be out again this weekend. Pereira has opted for the Brazilian tandem of Joao Gomes and Andre in the center of midfield while Lemina is out.
Boubacar Traore is closing in on his return from a knee injury, but that return is likely to take place next month.
Wolves have several players out with long-term injuries, including Saša Kalajdžić, Yerson Mosquera and Enso Gonzalez. The unfortunate Kalajdžić is on his way back as he has barely played since arriving on British shores.
Predicted line-up of Wolves against Tottenham (3-4-2-1): With; Doherty, Bueno, Toti; Semedo, Andre, Gomes, Ait-Nouri; Hwang, Cunha; Larsen.
The fresh voice has galvanized a Wolves squad that is certainly not devoid of talent, although triumphs over a porous Leicester and a vulnerable United mean we shouldn’t herald Pereira as a messiah just yet.
Despite Spurs’ recent woes, there’s no denying that this is a tougher test. While the Lilywhites were mired in the mud on Boxing Day, they aim to offer a far greater effort in the N17 and everyone will be aware of just how significant a game this is. The fans will really start turning if the Wolves run away with the result.
Spurs’ desperation can help them win, but expect a lot of chaos. Wolves have a knack for hurting their exhausted hosts.
