The workstations of the US Department of Finance were hacked in a cyber attack by China, reports AFP Reuters

(Reuters) – A state-sponsored Chinese actor is behind a cyberattack on the U.S. Treasury Department that resulted in access to some of its workstations, Agence France-Presse reported on Monday, citing a letter to Congress.

The Finance Ministry did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
