The cruise line is offering an unlimited pass for $120,000—you can pay with bitcoin
The demand for cruises continues get up, and Virgin Voyages has found a unique way to do it make passengers choose them.
In December, the adults-only cruise launched an unlimited cruise pass for a 2025 sailing with a base price of $120,000. With this pass, passengers can hop on any ship, anytime, from anywhere — throughout the calendar year.
“We offer limitless opportunities for adventure in a way that has never been done before in a cruise,” said Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, in a press release shared with CNBC Make It.
The pass can be purchased for a start date of January 1st, February 1st, March 1st or April 1st and is valid for one full year after that date. Pass holders must still pay taxes and fees for the cruises they book.
Virgin Voyages also announced that an annual pass can be purchased with bitcoin.
Passengers can board any of Virgin’s three ships currently sailing and a fourth ship, Brilliant Lady, which will be launched in September 2025.
An annual pass allows owners to book a Sea Terrace Cabin with a balcony and the iconic red hammock. Other perks include complimentary laundry, a $100 bar bonus per voyage, unlimited premium Wi-Fi, priority boarding, and exclusive onboard events and experiences.
As a bonus, annual pass holders can add a plus one to their cabin and can replace that person throughout the year.
The pass will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Passengers must be 21 years of age and book a ticket by inquiry through Virgin’s “Contact us” until March 31, 2025. Travel advisors who sell the annual pass will earn a $10,000 commission.
With the annual ticket, Virgin Voyages offers unlimited season ticket. This pass allows passengers to cruise from 24 to 40 nights, starting at $14,999 for two passengers.
