Player ratings as Blues stunned at Portman Road
Chelsea’s winless run extended to three games on Monday after they lost a frustrating 2-0 defeat to Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
A controversial penalty gave Ipswich the chance to take an early lead. Filip Jorgensen was deemed to have tripped Liam Delap, who dusted off the spot and gave the hosts a defensive advantage in emphatic fashion.
Former Chelsea youngster Omari Hutchinson added a second for Ipswich on the stroke of ten minutes into the second half, allowing Ipswich to focus on frustrating their expensive visitors for the rest of the game.
Two consecutive defeats have left Chelsea in fourth place in the Premier League table and Arsenal can extend their lead to four points when they meet Brentford on Wednesday. League leaders Liverpool, who have also played a game less, are ten points ahead of the Blues.
