Gwyneth Paltrow Reflects On ‘Letting Go’ In 2024: ‘Some People Who Were Not Right For Me’


Gwyneth Paltrow she looked back at what she “let go” in 2024 and revealed her goals for the coming year.

On Sunday, the 52-year-old actress and Goop founder shared an Instagram post featuring a video and photo slideshow in which she detailed everything she’s left behind in the past year and outlined her goals for 2025.

In the caption, Paltrow shared an excerpt from her Goop newsletter, writing, “A friend got me a numerology reading and I found out I’m in Year 9, which is the year of completions and endings. I’ve had some very strong lessons about completing certain things I’ve had a bunch of goodbyes this year; I had some revelations that led to the end.”

She continued, “The numerologist contextualized all of this for me, but this year was about me learning to understand that it was a year of endings. And that sometimes those endings were really painful and came with big changes and recalibrations.

“I’ve learned to loosen my grip on things and deeply learn to let go. And also understand that everything always happens for your greatest good, even if it’s super uncomfortable.”

The Star of “Shakespeare in Love.” kicked off her carousel with a video showing her walking down the street in a short blue and white dress with long sleeves and sunglasses while flashing a smile. The clip was emblazoned with the words: “This year I released…”

The next eight photos in Patrowa’s post each show one thing she left behind in the past year.

In the first picture, Paltrow was seen with her daughter Apple Martin (20) and son Moses Martin (18) as they enjoyed dinner together at a restaurant. Paltrow shares Apple and Moses with her ex-husband Chris Martin. She wrote on the video: “the phase of life that everyone is in always under the same roof.”

The actress became vacant this year when Moses went to college.

Paltrow then included a photo taken at her home, noting that she left “our home” behind. In June, the Oscar winner listed her six-bedroom house in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles for $29.99 million.

In her Instagram post, she shared another image of pictures with birds, flowers and butterflies, writing “some very esteemed colleagues”.

In the fourth picture, the actress is seen lying on the floor next to her German shepherd, Nero. She wrote “dog” on the photo, adding a broken heart emoji.

Paltrow then included a short clip of her backyard at night, writing “Los Angeles.” Paltrow and her husband Brad Falchuk decided are selling their house in Los Angeles since her kids moved out and finished building their house in Montecito, California.

Over a video of floating clouds, Paltrow wrote that she was letting go of “some people who weren’t right for me.”

In the photo of the fireplace, Paltrow noted that she was giving up “the idea that I can correct misperceptions.” The last picture featured a landscape view, in which she wrote that she was giving up “believing in self-limiting beliefs,” adding (okay, still working on it).”

Paltrow then pivoted her post to include videos and photos showing her goals for the new year. She started with a video of herself walking and wrote: “In 2025, I would like to…”

The actress included a video of the fountain with the caption “Freedom and Expansion Index.” She then included a photo of herself in a sauna, stating that her goal was to “feel better.”

She was seen wearing a white Goop T-shirt with black leather shorts in a mirror selfie she shared, writing, “Crush it at work (2024 was our best year ever, and there’s more to come.)

A photo of a cliff overlooking the ocean read, “Still being able to have tough conversations.” In the video of the bridge over the river, she wrote that she wanted to “continually question everything.”

Paltrow illustrated her goal of “Looking at things in a new way (ie, being aware of your biases)” with a picture of herself looking down at a piece of fruit hanging from a tree.
