When and where are the sprint weekends?

Six of the 24 racetime weekend F1 again runs to Sprint format in the 2025 season:

• 21.-23. March: Chinese big prix, shanghai
• 2-4 May: Miami Grand Prix, Miami
• 25-27. July: Belgian Grand Prix, Spa-Francorchamps
• 17.-19. October: Grand Prix of the United States, Austin
• 7. to 9 November: Sao Paulo Grand Prix, Sao Paulo
• 28-30. November: Qatar Grand Prix, Lusail

Spa-Francorchamps (previously staged one 2023) replaced Austria as a third event in Sprint, while the other five places were unchanged.

What is Sprint?

Sprint format was added to the F1 schedule at selected events from the season 2021 in an effort to spice up the action on the trails that are known to be overtaking, while ensuring that there are competitive sessions for fans who attend a circle and look at TV for all three days of race weekend.

Although drivers can use any of their available tires in regular qualifications, they are allowed only one set of tires in each part in the sprint shooting.

Are there stops in the sprint?

Pit stops are small and far between given how short the sprint is.

How often can teams change their cars between sessions?
