Molly McCann: The UFC star thought about a retirement after a brutal injury, but believes her best days are just coming | WWE News

Molly McCann was thinking about retiring after suffering a broken leg during the loss of Bruno Brasil last July, but believes her best to come.
The popular UFC Slash ‘Meatball’ McCann suffered an injury to the UFC 304 with the first struggle and consequently could not recover, losing the unanimous decision of Brasil.
The result was the third loss of a 34-year-old in four fights, a record of records at 14-7, but after a time spent focused on recovery, McCann has big plans for his future.
“I was in hell and back,” McCann said Sky Sports On the eve of the conflict with Alexi Thainar on Saturday.
“If you are a decent marital artist and if you have any skin in the game, you will always find a way to adjust and overcome and grow with sports.
“I don’t think we understood the seriousness of the injuries I had in the last fight. I just thought I was really beaten, and then a few days later, when we got the result, we realized the damage I gained.
“They were three months long. I was not allowed to contact about 10-12 weeks, which was difficult to deal with when he had been fighting all his life.
“I lost about 30 percent of my knees and 20 percent of my calf in that [medical] boot.
“I would go to the gym by looking at weights or a gravity machine and I would think,” Do I get back from this? “
‘I was probably the lowest extent’
The defeat of Brasil pushed McCanna into a low point, but Liverpudlian has since been pushed more and more to return.
“I was probably the lowest,” McCann added.
“I really understood because I trained so much, I didn’t cut the corners, and even when you give everything you don’t deserve to win, and that was a bitter pill I had to swallow.
“I was beaten, my body was in pieces, I just grieved, but I wouldn’t do it if I had a ounce of doubt that I shouldn’t be.”
Despite the fact that her defeats had a significant impact on her, McCann says she would still not change that.
“I need some troubles to get up and go again. There’s not many people overcoming as many falls as I do and I’m still here.
“Maya Angelou said, ‘We have to endure defeat, but we must never be defeated’, and sometimes it takes a defeat to understand it.
“There were certain moments when I could end up in that fight [against Brasil]But I was able to pass on one leg. “
‘Open the cafe, went to Ibiza, crashed my head’
The severity of McCann’s injury meant that she was forced to take away time from the sport she loved.
However, this has opened new research avenues as she diverted the focus from MMA to recovery.
“I just got back on the horse, opened a new cafe, had a good time in Ibiza in the summer and got his head down,” McCann said.
“I’m more practical with my companies now, I spent a while in Scotland returning to nature and going to fun things.
“I realized that my support system and my friends were much more imperative than I thought.”
Lowering the weight in a sweet weight for the first time also gave her a fresh career look.
“My whole game is different in this weight compared to 125 pounds, there is more patience and less angry,” McCann said.
“I was back in love with sports and I think in the last few weeks the highlight is at the right time.”
Although it may be difficult to surpass her knockout to turn your elbows, McCann believes her best to come.
“I think you will see something from where you will be:” Where does that come from? “, She added.
“It will be a better version of me on Saturday. The finisers I might not get, but for the way I overcome any obstacle, I just can’t wait.
“My best days are yet to come.”
