BCCI breaks silence on open criticism Virat Kohlija toward the family dictate with a strong statement
The Crown control Committee in India (BCCI) mentioned that the newly formed SOP would remain unchanged for the Indian team despite the criticism of the Kohlius Virata. Secretary Devajit Saikia mentioned that the policy of family members would remain unchanged for tours.
After a debacle in an Australian tour, BCCI brought strict policy for players. The governing body presented SOPs with ten points, which included limiting the presence of family members during foreign tours. This, however, was objected to the Indian players, especially Virat Kohli.
At this stage, the current policy will remain intact, because it is of the greatest importance for both nation and our institution – Devajit Saikia
According to politics, family members can follow members of the Indian contingent for up to two weeks if the tour lasts more than 45 days. Politics followed the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and some players expressed dissatisfaction with the same, including Virat Kohli.
But in the midst of all this, the secretary of Devajit Saikia mentioned that politics would remain intact. He said that although there may be different opinions, politics is applied uniformly to all team members. In an interview with Cricbuzz, he said:
“At this stage, the current policy will remain intact, because it is of the most important importance for both the nation and our institution, BCCI. BCCI recognizes that there may be some bitterness or different opinions, as well as in democratic setting, people have the right to express their views.
“Politics is applied uniformly to all team members – players, coaches, managers, auxiliary staff and anyone involved – and is carried out with the best interests of all in mind.”
This policy is not formulated overnight; For decades there is – devajit Saika
Devajit Saikia added that politics has been there for some time, emphasizing that the new amendment is the previous one. He added:
“This policy has not been formulated overnight; it has been around for decades, and it dates back to the days of playing our president, Roger Binny – and maybe even before.
“The new policy is an amendment of the previous one, with additional provisions on the presence of players in training, matches schedules, tours, luggage, team movements and other auxiliary activities, all focused on the goal of team cohesion and unity.”
BCCI has increased the duration of family members – devajit Saikia
Devajit Saikia added that they also increased the duration of the family members on the tour. He emphasized that he would do this by proper procedure.
“BCCI has increased the duration of family members with players during foreign tours, with provisions for relaxing the norms under special circumstances, but this will be done by an appropriate procedure,” he said.
India will be the next Tour for England for a five -match test series. The series will be played after the IPL 2025, starting on January 20th.
